Amarbaysgalant

ULAANBAATAR – AMARBAYASGALANT (B,L,D)

We leave early and start heading towards the North. Several hours north of Ulaanbaatar and deep inside the Selenge River Valley we find the Amarbaysgalant monastery. This formerly largest Monastery in Mongolia had suffered extensive destruction but was reconstructed in parts with significant attention to detail. The monastery is still active and monks live and worship here, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Here we also spend our first night in a Ger.

The white lake Terkh is located at the foot of the extinct Khorgo volcano, in a marvellous national park. We spend the day hiking and riding around the lake and up the Khorgo. Day 8
Tsenkher

TERKH WHITE LAKE - TSENKHER HOT SPRING (B,L,D)

After a long trip we deserve some relaxation. Tsenkher is a popular weekend vacation spot for locals, known for its healing waters since pre-soviet times. It is located in a picturesque valley with forested hillsides and a small creek running through it. The spring itself is surrounded by Ger camps, though the valley around it is, like most of Mongolia, virtually empty of people. Take your time, explore or just soak in one of the thermal pools supplied by the hot spring.
