Hong Kong, for most of us, is just high rise buildings, fast paced life, horse races etc, little do we know that its also home to over 600 temples and monasteries. From the beautiful architecture to the tranquil gardens, from striking statues to majestic verandas and halls. These wonderful pieces of history never stop to impress. HONG KONG: DRAGON BACK HIKE (B)
The Dragon's Back was hailed by Time Magazine as Asia's best urban hike: "This is the city´s finest and most surprising ramble… The glory of it all is that you're so close to the city, but could hardly feel further away." With your tour guide, walk along a lovely cool path that takes you through shady groves of bamboo and lush woodland, accompanied by birdsong. You then emerge into an open hillsides often covered with wild azaleas or rose myrtle. The path follows the rugged undulating spinal ridge of the Dragon´s Back, where the earth is regarded as a living being, with lines of force known as 'dragon veins'. Enjoy the breathtaking views over the dazzling seas, the distant Nine Pins Islands, sandy Big Wave Bay, Tai Tam Harbour, Stanley and the Red Hill peninsula. Finish the hike by strolling down through shaded tunnels of exotic vegetation, then drive back to the hotel. Alternatively, you can head to nearby sea food market for a delicious sea food dinner.
