After breakfast at the hotel take the early morning express train from Taipei to Hualien. Then drive to the East Coast National Scenic Area with stops at the terraced rocks of Shitiping, Sanxiantai and the Amis Folk Center.

Taitung - Hualien (B)
Visit the East Rift Valley with the scenic area of Luye Gaotai, Mr. Brown Avenue, Taitung’s Takeshi Kaneshiro Tree and the Matai’an Wetland Ecological Park.

Chiaohsi
Hualien - Taroko Gorge - Chiaohsi (B)
Today visit the Taroko National Park which is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by a river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock snakes its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Stop at the Eternal Spring Shrine, the Swallow Grotto, pass by the Tunnel of Nine Turns, Cihmu Bridge, Tienshiang and Qingshui Cliff. Continue the drive to Chiaohsi and enjoy a natural hot spring bath.

Taipei
Chiaohsi - Taipei (B)
After breakfast visit to the National Centre of Traditional Arts, the King Car Kavalan Whiskey Distillery and the King Car Yuanshan Orchid Garden. Return to Taipei in the late afternoon.

Taipei
Taipei City - Jiufen Village & Northeast Coast (B)
After breakfast at the hotel take a tour of Taipei city including the impressive Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, the National Palace Museum where 5,000 years of Chinese imperial arts and jade collections are exhibited; the Martyrs’ Shrine with its traditional architecture and watch the change of Honor Guards. Continue to a local Taiwanese temple and Taipei Handicraft Center. In the afternoon go on a tour to the Northeast Coast to visit Jiufen Village (walking tour of ca. 40 minutes), passing by Jinguashi Village. Stop at Bitou Cape to see the Nanya Rock Formations. Drive back to Taipei and get to see the Bay of Two Colours on the way.
