YANGON ARRIVAL AND SIGHTSEEING
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you are welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Once you are refreshed, take a sightseeing tour of some of Yangon’s highlights, including the National Museum, which is home for many interesting artefacts from Myanmar’s past. You visit the bustling Chinatown area in Yangon’s downtown before you have the chance to browse for Myanmar crafts at the Bogyoke Aung San Market. Then visit the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most important religious structure in Myanmar and a point of pilgrimage for Buddhists across the globe.

Today, you drive to Mawlamyine which is the tropical capital of the Mon state and one-time administrative centre of British Burma. If time permits, visit around the city.

Mount Kyaiktiyo

While you
drive up to Mount Kyaiktyo, enjoy
spectacular views across the Mon State. The Mountain is home of the famous
‘Golden Rock’ pagoda which hangs precariously off the edge of the mountaintop.

Mawlamyine
BILU ISLAND & MAWLAMYINE (B)
In the morning, transfer to the jetty for the
short boat trip to Bilu Island which specializes in the making of crafts such as
walking sticks, pipes and rubber bands. Returning to Mawlamyine and spend the afternoon exploring the city, including
Pa Auk Taw Ya Monastery, one of the largest meditation centres in Myanmar and the 100- year-old wooden monastery at Seindon Minbaya Kyaung. In the evening, enjoy the sunset across the Bay of Martaban from Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda.

KYAIKTIYO – BAGO – YANGON (B)
Enjoy the beautiful morning sunrise at Kyaiktiyo before descending the mountain for transport back to the base camp and drive to Yangon. Along the way, stopp to explore the sights in Bago, a town famed for its numerous Buddhist structures.

Inle Lake
YANGON – HEHO: INLE SIGHTSEEING & RED MOUNTAIN VINEYARD (B)
In the morning, transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho, the gateway to the famous Inle Lake within the Shan State. Then begin a sightseeing tour on a long-tail boat on the Inle Lake, visit silk weaving and lotus industries before stopping in Nanpan to witness work at a Cheroot (Myanmar Cigar) factory. Continue your tour to see the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda. In the evening, you drive to Red Mountain vineyard where you also have a chance to taste their geniuses Western Style Myanmar Wines while enjoying the beautiful sunset.

Inle Lake
INDEIN (B, L)
Take the morning in order to prepare your traditional Burmese Lunch. Here, you learn more about the recipes of the Shan dishes. Afterwards, travel to Indein to observe the 17th century Pagoda complex and visit the small communities alongside the lake’s edge. On the way, you see some of the lake’s famous floating gardens and visit a number of souvenir shops.

Bagan
HEHO – BAGAN (B)
In the morning, transfer to Heho Airport for your flight to Nyaung U. Your Bagan Archaeological Tour takes in famous sites including Damayarzaka Pagoda, ShweGugyi and Thabyinnyu. Other highlights include the mural paintings at Gubyukggyi and Abeyadana Temple, which is fames for its mural paintings about Mahayana Buddhism. In the afternoon, your Bagan tour continues with a visit to the Shwezigone Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, the 13th century cave temple at Wetkyi-in- Gubyaukgyi, Ananda Pagoda, one of the most famous pagodas at the sight, and many other temples and pagodas dotted around the vast site. In the afternoon, visit a traditional lacquer ware shop to see these unique products being made before enjoying Bagan’s famous sunset from atop one of the temples.

BAGAN: POPA TAUNKALAT MONASTERY & SINT LUU VILLAGE (B, L)
Visit today the Popa Taunkalat Monastery close to Mount Popa. The monastery sits atop a structure 777 steps from the top and is an important home to the Nat (Spirit Gods) according to traditional belief. Then, drive to Sint Luu Village where you will have your lunch. Your traditional local dish is prepared by the monks or students at the monastery; you have the chance to talk to them about their community, daily life and how Buddhism plays a central part in it. The meal is followed by tea or coffee. Return to Bagan, stopping on the way to see the process of making toddy palm juice.

Mandalay
BAGAN – MANDALAY: AMARAPURA & AVA SIGHTSEEING (B)
Fly to Mandalay and visit some other ancient capitals nearby. First off is Amarapura, which was the capital during the Konbaung dynasty and includes the Mahagandayon Monastery and the world’s longest teak bridge at U Bein. Afterwards, visit another ancient capital - Ava, where highlights include the ‘leaning tower of Ava’, Maha Aungmye Bonzan and Bagaya Kyaung.

MANDALAY: MINGUN & MANDALAY (B)
Enjoy the morning in Mingun, which is the site of what would have been the world’s largest pagoda if King Bodawpaya had not died in 1819 during its construction. Suffering poor luck, an earthquake in 1838 reduced it to partial rubble; however the temple remains as a spectacular sight as you approach it from the river. There is also the Mingun Bell, which was moved from the temple, and is said to be the largest hanging bell in the world. Return to Mandalay in the afternoon in order to visit the highly revered Mahamuni Pagoda and see the world’s largest book at Kuthodaw Pagoda. If time permits, enjoy the sunset from atop Mandalay Hill.

Monywa
SAGAING – MONYWA (B)
In the morning, visit the former capital of Sagaing, which has many stupas scattered along the side of the hill named after the town. Then drive to Monywa, which is situated on the edge of the Chindwin River and is a lively area for trading agricultural produce. Along the way, visit also the colourful Thanbuddhay Pagoda.

MONYWA – MANDALAY (B)
Enjoy a trip along the Chindwin River, a tributary of the mighty Irrawaddy River, visiting Po Win Daung Caves and Shwe Ba Daung. Return to Mandalay in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
