Day 1
Yerevan

Arrival Yerevan, transfer hotel

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Meet and greet to Yerevan. Transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 2
Yerevan

Yerevan (city tour with stops) – Brandy Fabrik (B/D)

After breakfast start city tour around Yerevan the history of which dates back to 8th century B.C. We will be strolling through the narrow streets of Yerevan which are mixture of old and modern culture. Visiting of Republic Square, Northern Avenue, Opera House, Swam Lake and Cascade Monument where you can find unique art samples. Visit Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and the museum of victims of Armenian Genocide. Our next stop is Brandy Factory where you will be introduced to the brandy making techniques and have a degustation of brandy. Dinner at the local restaurant in Yerevan.

Yerevan

Yerevan Temple Garni, Geghard Monastery - Etschiatsin - Swartnots- Yerevan (B/L)

After breakfast departure to Geghard Monastery (13th c.) – a monastery which is hewn out from a cave. The monastery had been originally named Ayrivank meaning "the Monastery of the Cave". The name commonly used for the monastery today, Geghard, or more fully Geghardavank meaning "the Monastery of the Spear". The monastery is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Continue our journey to Garni Pagan Temple from 1st c. The temple was built by Armenia King Tiridates and was dedicated to the God of Sun Mithra. Garni is the only Hellenistic temple existing nowadays in Armenia. The stairs of the temple are made huge and high which means that every human being climbing up the stairs is condescending to God of Sun. Lunch in a local house with Armenia bread “lavash” baking ceremony. Departure to Echmiadzin Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage) which is located about 20km from the capital city. In this holy place one will be impressed by the spiritual atmosphere around and can hit a candle just for his/her dreams. Drive back to Yerevan with a stop at the ruins of Zvartnots Temple (7th c.).

Goris

Monastery Chor-Virap, Mount Ararat (view), Norowank-Goris Monastery (B/L/D)

Sightseeing tour to the cradle of civilization to Khor Virap Monastery which is located very close to the Biblical Mount Ararat and border with Turkey. The importance of Khor Virap Monastery is connected with Grigor Illuminator who has been imprisoned with the church for 13years for disseminating Christianity all over Armenia. Drive to Vayots Dzor region to visit Areni winery. Here Lunch in a local restaurant. Sightseeing at Noravank Monastery (13th c.) which is surrounded by mountains covered by red stones. The beauty of the surrounding mountains one can only see with his/her own eyes, as description can never give the real beauty. Departure to Syunik region to the city of Goris. Dinner.

Day 5
Lake Sevan

Goris, Kharahunj Selim Pass, Lake Sevan (B/D)

Departure to Karahounge (Zorats Qarer) is a prehistoric archaeological site near the town of Sisian. Here you will find about 223 basalt slabs of which 84 have 4-5cm long openings in them. Departure to Lake Sevan through the Selim pass which used to be an important trade point in famous Silk Road. Sightseeing on the peninsula where the monastic complex of Sevanavanq is located. We need to climb up many stairs to reach the monastery from where opens a spectacular view to the “blue-eyed” lake.Dinner.

Day 6
Yerevan

Sevanavank Monastery, Sevan Cruise, Dilijan, Goschavank Monastery, Nairian Cosmetic Factory, Yerevan (B/L/D)

fter breakfast climb the stairs up on the peninsula from where opens a fascinating view to the “blue-eyed” lake. Sightseeing tour on the peninsula. Lake Sevan is considered to be one of the largest sweet lakes in the world at an altitude of 1897 meters above sea level. Then, take a cruise during which you feel completely in harmony with nature. Departure to the little Switzerland of Armenia – Dilijan resort town.Tour to the most beautiful monastery Haghartsin. After lunch visit the monastery Goshavank, a medieval monastery. Now it's time to discover the Armenian cosmetics factory Nairian. Here you walk through the gardens of the factory, then visit the manufacturing process. Return to Yerevan. Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 7
Yerevan

Yerevan- Matenadaran- Gyumri-Yerevan (B/L)

After breakfast visit to the depository of manuscripts – Matenadaran where one can find the world’s largest manuscripts collection. Then drive to Gyumri which is the second largest city in Armenia and capital of the province of Shirak. The city has about 130,000 inhabitants who speak a local dialect. Gyumri is called the city of humor, and the best and most actors come from Gyumri. After the city tour you will have lunch. Afterwards you go to the "Aregak" bakery-cafe, where many people work with limited abilities. Here you have the opportunity to bake something with them. Return to Yerevan.

Day 8
Yerevan

Yerevan - Amberd - Saghmosavank - Yerevan (B/D)

After breakfast departure to the fortress of Amberd. The housing site of Amberd fortress was chosen very convenient by the builders, they avail of the mountainous terrain singularities. Amberd fortress locates in the southern of mount Aragats. The fortress building time is between 10th and 13th centuries (some buildings date from the 7th century). On the way, we stop for a short visit to see the monument to the Armenian alphabet. In 2005 was celebrated the 1600th birthday of the Armenian alphabet. For this occasion were carved. 39 huge Armenian letters. Visit to Saghmossavank medieval monastery which is located in a breathtaking site. Return to the capital. Dinner in a local restaurant.
