ARRIVAL - SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
Upon arrival at Tuxtla Airport you will be transfer to San Cristóbal de las Casas for a short introduction tour through this pictorial colonial town. A real sensation for your taste buds is a visit to a chocolatier to taste traditional Chiapas hot chocolate. During your walk through the city, you also visit the amber museum and learn about the prehispanic use and todays production.

SAN JUAN CHAMULA - ZINACANTAN (B)
Experience the indigenous culture of Mexico with a visit to San Juan Chamula where the majority of the population belongs to the tribe of the Tzotzil Mayan people. Visit the church of San Juan where Maya traditions and beliefs are mixed with Catholic traditions give you a deep insight into the culture of the Tzotzil Mayan. There after, visit San Lorenzo de Zinacantán. You can admire in addition to the church also important craft works and learn from a local family how they produce them. In the afternoon you are taken back to San Cristóbal de las Casas.

Villahermosa
SUMIDERO CANYON – VILLAHERMOSA: OLMEC MUSEUM (B)
Start your day with a visit to the world famous Cañón del Sumidero in Chiapas which is the highlight of today's sightseeing. The best way to view the 1000 meter deep canyon and the surrounding national park is by boat. A truly amazing natural adventure! Afterwards, drive from the Highland of Chiapas to the Lowland of Tabasco and its capital Villahermosa. In the afternoon you visit the impressive outdoor museum “La Venta” and admire the monumental carved stones (colossal stone heads), representative for the oldest known culture in Mexico, the Olmecs.

Palenque
PALENQUE – ROBERTO BARRIOS WATERFALL (B)
Leave after breakfast to reach the UNESCO world heritage site of Palenque. Now in the middle of a dense jungle, it was the centre of a Mayan city state in the 7th century. Its architecture, sculpture, bas relief and roof comb carvings are exquisitely executed and well preserved to give you a very good insight into the Mayan culture. After an extensive guided tour of the site, you visit the Waterfall Roberto Barrios that is off the beaten paths, however reminds its visitor of the natural beauty comparable to the scenic Agua Azul waterfall.
