Day 1
Taipei

TAIPEI / SUN MOON LAKE + Natural Hot Spring

In the morning pickup from your hotel in Taipei City and drive to the Sun Moon Lake which is situated 762 meter above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. On the way stop at the famous Wenwu Temple, also known as Literature-Warrior Temple and dedicated to Confucius as Master of the Pen and to Kuan Ti the Master of the Sword. Continue on to the Holy Monk Shrine and the Ci En Pagoda. After your visit to the Sun Moon Lake, check into your hotel and enjoy a bath in the natural hot spring. Furthermore you can avail of other leisure activities such as walking, biking and hiking or enjoy a boat trip on the lake.

SUN MOON LAKE / FOGUANGSHAN MONASTERY / KAOHSIUNG (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and leisure time until 10 a.m. After the check-out, pass by the lovely old Jiji Railway Station on your way to the Buddhist Monastery in Fo Guang Shan. It is the most famous, sacred place for Buddhists in Southern Taiwan. On the Monastery Walking Tour you have the chance to talk to monks and nuns and learn all about Buddhism. Visit the Buddha Memorial Center and take the unique opportunity to join the Buddhists for their lunch (Vegetarian, at your own expense). Continue your journey to Kaohsiung City, which is the second largest city in Taiwan. The tour will take you to the Love River and the Liuhe Night Market.

Taitung

KAOHSIUNG / KENTING / TAITUNG (B)

In the morning take a tour to Kenting National Park, located at the southern tip of Taiwan and 37 miles of the coral-rimmed shoreline.Visit the Eluanbi lighthouse, get to see the coastal scenic area of Maobitou and Longpan Park. Afterwards drive to Taitung via Southern Link Highway.

Hualien

TAITUNG / EAST COAST NATIONAL SCENIC AREA / HUALIEN (B)

After breakfast, start your exciting East Coast Tour. This scenic area is known as "Taiwan's last unspoiled land" and stretches 170 kilometers down the east coast of the island. Due to weather conditions, erosion and accumulation a wide range of landforms can be found here. Enjoy stops at Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping (Stone Steps) and a marble factory including showroom. In the late afternoon, proceed to Hualien for overnight stay at Taroko National Park.

HUALIEN / TAROKO GORGE / TAIPEI (B)

After breakfast, visit the Taroko National Park.Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu River which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock is winding its way past forested peaks and cliffs while the river below roars past gigantic marble boulders. Pass by the Tunnel of Nine Turns, the Ci Mu Bridge and stop at the Swallow Grotto as well as Changchun Temple with the Eternal Spring Shrine. Return to Taipei City with a stop at Cingshui Cliff. Drive through the Syue-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 km) and arrive at your hotel in the evening.
